Can I afford it?
The question that shows up right before you pay. Enter three numbers and we’ll tell you what changes if you buy it today: what you’d have left, how much of your month it takes, and — if you’re saving for something — how many days the date would move.
Se calcula aquí, en tu navegador. Estos números no se envían a ningún sitio ni se guardan.
Enter the price and what you earn a month, and I’ll tell you what would happen if you bought it today.
Here you type three numbers. The app already has them.
This calculator is a reduced version of what Pleloot works out. The rules behind the verdict are the same — the thresholds and the goal delay come from the same engine — but it can only work with what you type. These four things need your real data:
- It already knows your numbersYou don’t type any of this each time. Pleloot knows what you have, what’s coming up to pay and what you’ve already spent this month.
- It counts what’s already committedRent, bills, subscriptions and instalments come off before the answer, not after. That’s the difference between your balance and what you can actually use.
- And it knows what it does to your goalsIf you’re saving for something, Pleloot tells you how many days this purchase would push that date back — with the date, not with a warning.
What people ask about this calculation
Does this calculator save what I type?
No. It runs in your browser and nothing is sent anywhere: no server sees the numbers you enter. Close the tab and there’s nothing left.
Why does the app give a different answer?
Because the app knows more. Here you enter three numbers; Pleloot works with everything you’ve tracked — what’s left this month, what’s already committed, what’s coming up to pay and how your goals are going. This page is a reduced version of that calculation.
Does it work with any currency?
Yes. Pick yours at the top and the result is formatted in it.
Do it automatically with your own data.
In Pleloot you don’t type any of this each time: the app already knows what you have, what’s committed and how your goal is going, and it recalculates on its own. Seeing the impact of a purchase is free and doesn’t need an account.
Your money, well played.
